We as a people of a great city, can't live on past stereotype, about area's
nor about people. We forge a new ground, by removing old image from our
minds and in doing so we remove them from our life, and build new things, we
gather new hope, and we come to appreciate all the wonderful things
which make up our city.
Remember: When you say negative things about our city, you also, push
away the companies that may want to move here, you push away new jobs,
and you push away new opportunity, you push away new commerce that may
consider our city, and you limit yourself to a small segment of a great
city. As a Southern Region, we have broken many barriers, and still we have
the barrier we create which must be broken. We can no longer afford to deny
parts of our city, based on old thoughts, and folklore and other negative
connotations. Industry moves to cities which have good thoughts about
itself, and which embraces itself with unity, and cares about all parts of
itself. It always matters, what you say, even in casual exchange,
when people put down an area, they put down the city, and we must
learn and grow to see hope in all areas, as it is true, if the economic was
strong in all areas, then the conditions improve in all areas. Let's make
our entire city strong through the opportunity for all to build their
business, engage their dreams and make ourselves a renewed city with the
spirit of progress
The same spirit about
building, which swept the nation, during the 1940's and 1950, propelled many
companies to be built from the ideas of individual, Over time, many options
may unfold, but we have to take the first steps - in the progressions, we may
attract people willing to invest in individual vendors, as city venture
capitalist; through the right program- anything is possible, and everyone
can contribute - the result is - we progress as a people, as communities and
as a city.
We as a state are always
ranked low in many categories in generalized polls and tally groups, but we can change that, we can work together
and rank in the top ranks, as a region, a city and a state that inspires the
spirit of individuals, through programs which help individuals build from the bottom up,
and as team work of people, working and building together, we can achieve
anything desired If only we
"dare to take the chance to do so".. The South, can
present and show unto the nation,
how to rebuild itself; what better place to start than "Shreveport".
so, be positive, be proactive - don't count our city out, don't be with a negative idea about our
potential, we are as great as any people in America's expanse, and we can
stand as tall as our hopes and dream lift us.
Louisiana is shaped
like the design of a boot, we can be that boot, which walks our people into
the future..
We have the Historic venue, of the Louisiana State Fair Grounds, We can
embrace its history, and build our future to be even better and brighter. For
those who would speak ill of it based on any past incidents, do not do the
city justice, nor give the respect unto the venue, and in turn such negative
thoughts only turn away the companies which see it as a great historical
place, who may care to make use of it to enhance our economic prospering.
Each Year it host The State Fair, which is well over 100 years of events -
and the Nationally Televised "Independence Bowl", makes its home at the
State Fair Grounds. This is a Grand Venue, with the historic auditorium, and
many other feature's which have great potential, to help us build into
tomorrow more great experiences and Events. This is a State owned Facility
ran by a great staff and President of the Fair Grounds Operations, who holds
great care and admiration for it's stature and maintains its stand as a
great historic venue.
The Centerpiece Marketplace, is making it's home at the State Fair Grounds
in Shreveport, for a Year Round - Vendor sellers showcase. It's a great way
for each person to build their own business up from scratch, existing
merchants to enhance their ability to reach a broader customer base, and
excellent for the business minded, to improve their marketing ability, learn
and try out new marketing techniques, and offer to the public a great
assortment of options, bargains along with having a great experience, to
enjoy on a bi-weekly basis. We have the potential to expand the offering
with unlimited options. It takes the participation of Vendors and the
Public. to come and lets Inspire our city, help each other, and make again
our Venue show of it's greatness.
Forget about the old thoughts of people who hold on to yesterday and
can't embrace building tomorrow..
